~Sandra on the Subway Platform~
Sandra
I was standing on the subway platform waiting for the Queens bound N Train, you had been seated on the bench . The platform was quite uncomfortable New York City as you must have known that night was most uncomfortable. You were seated on the bench in the center of the platform and gracefully walked over to introduce yourself to me. I had been trying to stay as cool as possible ,I had just left class . I wanted to complete our conversation , I had been surprised by your direct friendly composure. It is the gentleman in me that needs to reach out to you now only moments since our brief exchange , greeting each other on that very humid subway platform.
You had begun a conversation mentioned you had joined this blog, the Queens bound N Train pulled into the station, I motioned that it was my train , in moments of your gracious guesture of introducing yourself. I did feel once the train left the station I had been abrupt., and did not allow us to to complete our conversation, it is NYC,the subway was a most uncomfortable.
If you do find this message seeing you had mentioned you had subscribed to my website ,please do accept my apology for not being a bit more gracious as you had extended yourself to me on this night.
I feel I should have thought it through finished our conversation and taken the next Queens Bound N Train.
If you do find this message I do hope you did travel well this night and I would like to once again thank you for joining and for introducing yourself to me.
All the best Sandra
your friend
Jerry

Hello Jerry,
Once in awhile we come across someone who is genuine, thoughtful, compassinate, and gracious.
I met the most amazing women once,on a train to Chicago. I felt like I had known her my whole life. “Bonnie” was a elderly lady, that knew so much about everything, we connected in our souls. I helped her off the train to her waitng family, and told them how beautiful she was. They nodded at me like “we know” and they weren’t suprised she made a knew friend. When we parted at the train station, and cried. I will never forget her, and the gifts she gave that day. The gift of friendship, and connection. If we are open to it, we can be nutured through a gracious stranger. It’s refreshing (even in this humidity)to know there are people out there that are reaching out to each other, and it makes this world a better place. Thank you for sharing, it makes my heart happy.

Hope I run into you in the subway someday, too! Would be nice to hear your voice again after all these years (I mean I heard it from the movie, of course).
stay cool!
Michael
Hello again Jerry. You were so kind to write. As you said so eloquently, “the city” is incredibly hot and even hotter underground when we submerge ourselves to catch our trains home. .In no way were you abrupt or unkind. Quite the contrary. I like to think that I understand the city, and the culture of our travel through it. You were perfectly appropriate and I took no offense. And it was just way too hot- and time to get home – any way you look at it. Through all this you were warm, friendly and polite. I came away from our meeting knowing truly how gracious a gentleman you are.
Funny I always felt that I would, someday, run into you but I thought it would be when I jumped into a cab. Have a great summer Jerry. Your art is so strong and beautiful. It is wonderful to see someone find their bliss. It was my pleasure meeting you.
Sandra
P.S. .I know that you must keep your garden appropriately watered. Please don’t forget our NYC Street Trees. If you get a chance, they could use a drink too. There are way too many brown leaves on the ground lately and its not Fall yet.
All the best Jerry.

You made my whole day with this post, Jerry. I know how life just happens sometimes & you look back in a quieter moment & think, Hmm, perhaps…
I was in NYC 2 weeks ago & was stumbling around from the heat!
You’re a gentleman, Jerry. {hug}
Jerry, you are a gentleman indeed.
