The great house stands ,and in my eyes looks the best it has in years.Each place we live, the paths that lead us to a place in our lives, they have a spirit. Yes all there own ,houses, old neighborhoods,ball parks. One can visit a memory, if it be a locked in ones mind,or in this case a mansion. A quick springtime visit to Grey Gardens , has set my heart on a good upbeat for the Summer ahead. hello Jerry- I agree with Jeannie- I watch the documentary over and over- both Grey Gardens and the Beales of Grey Gardens and I can not figure out where Big Edie’s room is at- except that it is upstairs- and I love that wonderful deck they sit out on a lot- and I can’t figure out where the porch was attached onto the house.
I noticed the Bradlee’s have torn it off- well they would because they are into making the house look fancy- I don’t like the make-over they gave Grey Gardens- not one bit. It’s not Grey Gardens anymore- not to me.
I liked the look of the house much better when the Beales lived in it.
Please keep posting – you are the only one left from the original stars of the film- and I pine for any kind of information and photos you can give us about Big and Little Edie and Grey Gardens.

Hi Jerre! Wonderful “general musings.” Where are you in this picture? I never could “get the lay of the land” as far as figuring out which rooms were where in the house. I sure wish you would draw us a map of the house interior. They say there are 28 rooms, but I find that hard to believe. Is it true? I guess every “cubbyhole” is counted then. Love you!
